This new album continues the adventure we saw on the big screen in the blockbuster reimagining of Dungeons & Dragons that Balfe recently scored.

You may have heard Edgin Darvis (also known as Edgin the bard) and his compatriots singing their hallmark song, Juice of the Vine, throughout their adventures in the D&D movie. Now, you can invoke the Bardic Inspiration this song provides in your own adventures with the release of the full-length, beautiful rendition from Balfe’s latest album, exclusively on Arcane Eye!

What is Book of the Bard?

Releasing June 23rd, Book of the Bard is a collaborative album with lyrics penned by the D&D blockbuster’s directors, John Daley & Jonathan Goldstein. As you can hear from Juice of the Vine, this album’s blend of Celtic musicians, traditional orchestration, and folk influences immerses you in the feelings of adventure that are so often found when playing D&D. Whether you’re clinking tankards in a cozy tavern or traveling a bleak road for redemption, Book of the Bard features music that will capture the spirit and soul of the game.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, Balfe shared that he wanted this music to inspire those playing at home, whatever adventures they are partaking in:

“Dungeons & Dragons has always been a cherished world of imagination for myself and countless fans. The taverns within this universe hold a unique charm, acting as gateways to adventure, camaraderie, and discovery. It was a lot of fun working with John and Jonathan on this album, and we envisioned players of the game having this album play in the background of their quests. We aimed to honor the essence of these captivating spaces by crafting melodies that resonate with fans and take them on a musical odyssey through the world of Dungeons & Dragons.”
